Our Day In The Sun

So, they predicted rain today...........

For brekkie on this crisp morning, we headed to Daci Daci Bakers.  It didn't appear in any guide book and wasn't recommended by anyone, we just happened to peer  in the window the day before and swore we would go back to taste their wares.

The bakery must have been there for a while because we spotted this photo on the wall inside.

You could have been mistaken in thinking that you were in a quaint little patisserie somewhere in France except that you could fit your plate on the table, there was no smoking and the staff were very friendly and interested in us being there.

Sitting behind us were two ladies.  One started talking as soon as they sat down.  She had one of those voices that bellowed past the point of necessary reception.  She talked at her friend:
"Have you seen Gatsby?  Well it's really good.  I've seen the movie.  It's about this really wealthy man and I can't remember what he did, but he was really powerful and it's al about finding your weaknesses and your strengths and seeing how you can live your life with.... blah blah blah......  I've also see Life of Pi.  It's about finding yourself, except there's a tiger."

Then she segued into discussing her son......... and this is all without a single question being asked by her companion.

This was the type of delicious delicacies on offer at Daci Daci..... how do you choose?

Ohhhhhh, I'll have 2........ of everything!

After a day on the town where we unsuccessfully tried desperately to boost Hobart's economy a lovely cruise on the harbour was in order.  We boarded the camouflaged catamaran that was bound for the Mona Museum and sat back and enjoyed the ride.

On the top deck of the ferry, these quirky seating options were a little surprising.

But were well utilised.......

Our next point of call was to Custom House for a small afternoon bevy.  Apparently this is a fairly well known pub in Hobart and is where all the sailors from the Sydney to Hobart yacht race end up.........

but, not today.......
